14Status and Plans
- Tile-HCal prototype has entered its construction
phase. - Unique in its ability to explore the whole range
of readout options from the purely digital to the
fully analog - Inclusion of a tail-catcher/muon tracker for
studying shower tails, leakage and muon
identification/reconstruction in the PFlow
paradigm will allow the full realization Calice
test beam program. - Program has nurtured and benefited from its truly
international character. This trend is expected
to intensify. - The next step is the exposure of the prototype to
a hadron test beam to not only gain operational
experience but even more importantly test,
influence and validate the hadronic shower
simulations leading to further development of
PFlow algorithms. - Need to take test beam together with the ECal in
the period 2005-2006 if conceptual detector
design choices are to be made in time for the
proposed 2015 start of the LC.
