Throughout High School

• Keep your grades up throughout high school.
  Colleges look at your entire high school academic
  record. What you do in 9th grade is just as
  important as what you do in 12th.

When you are a high school sophomore

• Take the PLAN test. This test serves as a pre-ACT
  test, providing the student practice and exposure
  to standardized testing. As a "pre-ACT" test,
  PLAN is a powerful predictor of success on the
  ACT.

When you are a high school junior

• Take the PSAT (helps prepare for the SAT high
  scores can qualify you for National Merit
  Scholar)
• Take the ACT or the SAT.
• Keep your grades up. Colleges look at your
  entire high school academic record. What you do
  in 9th grade is just as important as what you do
  in 12th.
• Consider college options location, curriculum,
  size, diversity, athletics, social life

• Become involved in community and school
  activities.
• Admissions officers/schoalrship committees want
  to see evidence of leadership and commitment to
  service.

In the fall of your senior year

• Select the college(s) you are most interested in
  attending. Send for information/registration
  packets and applications. Most schools have this
  information available on-line.
• Sign up to re-take the ACT to raise test scores.
  Better scores could affect your ability to
  receive scholarships.
