Title: HUNT SCHOOL GARDEN

1
HUNT SCHOOL GARDEN
  • By Rory Cassidy

2
Fertilizers
  • Fish emulsion is a good fertilizer, mainly
because it contains the three main minerals that
help plants grow successfully. And they are
  • Nitrogen,
  • Phosphorus,
  • Potassium,

3
The Life of a Butterfly
  • The life cycle of a butterfly mainly consists of
five main stages, the egg, the smaller larva, the
grown caterpillar, the pupa, and finally the
fully grown butterfly, which allows the cycle
repeat. To have a succesful butterfly garden, you
are going to need several types of plants, which
include most nectar producing plants. There is
absolutely no need for chemical pesticides.

4
Organic Gardening
  • Organic gardening basically means that you only
use biodegradable material inside of the soil
that you plant in. This eliminates the need for
    chemicals.

5
Plants of Different Seasons
  • The plants that we grow in the garden now are not
always able to grow during the entire year. Some
plants can only grow in the Spring, Fall, and
etc. In the Spring some examples include
  • Tomatoes
  • Beans
  • Okra
  • Peppers
  • Cucumbers
  • And in the Fall
  • Spinach
  • Chard
  • Turnips
  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Cauliflower

6
Geographic Gardens
  • To have a geographic garden means to have a
garden that grows a regional crop, usually for
    profit.
  • Cotton, peanuts and sorghum are all geographical
crops that we have grown in our garden.

7
Compost Piles
  • We use our compost pile to decompose weeds that
we pull from our garden. After they have entirely
decomposed, the plants turn into fine mixture of
dirt, which is exceptionally full of nutrients,
and helps the plants grow their best.

8
Discovery and Community Gardens
  • In the Summer, our Discovery Garden makes a
change to a Community Garden. This happens so we
can share the garden with everybody that wants to
use it. As soon as the schools are done with
their harvests, the garden becomes open to
everyone who wants to use it.

9
Conclusion
  • Personally, the Discovery Garden has taught me
many things, but most of all, it has taught me
    many skills related to gardening.
