4
What is Global Warming?
  • The most currently discussed issue in the world
is global warming. This could lead to the
extinction of man and many land animals. Global
Warming could melt the two poles, therefore the
earths waters would rise causing many islands to
be flooded, these include Fiji, Vanuatu and the
    Solomon Islands.

5
Causes of Global Warming
  • There are many things that contribute to the
Greenhouse Effect resulting in Global Warming.
    These causes include
  • Things that, when burnt let off polluting fumes
    e.g. coal, rubber etc.
  • Wasted energy production.
  • CFC and methane gases.
  • Garbage that isnt disposed properly.

6
The Green House Effect
  • The Green House Effect is the natural heater
for the Earth, without it the Earth would be 18
Degrees colder. The O-zone is made up of CH4
    (Methane), CO2 (Carbo Dioxide), N2 (Nitrogen), O2
(Oxygen). Many of these gasses slowly eat away
the O-zone layer letting in the suns radiation.

7
Which countries produce the most bad gases and
where do they come from
  • CFC gases 20
  • Deforestation 10
  • Agriculture 10
  • Energy Production 60
  • Japan, Germany and the U.S.A. are the worst
countries because they have so many cars.

8
Ozone Layer
  • The Ozone Layer is the most affected by Global
Warming. It gets eaten away by Greenhouse gases
letting the suns U.V.A and U.V.B rays into our
atmosphere. These rays are slowly causing climate
change, melting of the ice caps and even skin
    cancer in humans.

9
Effects Global Warming has on the World
  • Major climatical changes resulting in farmland
turning to desert and crops dying.
  • More U.V.A and U.V.B rays because theres a hole
    in the Ozone layer.

10
Effects Global Warming has on Antarctica
  • South Pole melting resulting in global seas
    rising by 64.5 metres.
  • More plant life growing in Antarctica due to the
    climate getting warmer.

11
Conclusion
  • Unfortunately we have taken advantage of our
technology and built many things that contribute
to the Greenhouse Effect and in turn Global
Warming. We should all give our time to help the
problem. Even though it is never going to be 100
    repaired we should still help.

12
10 Point Action Plan
  • Turn off appliances that are run by electricity
    when you arent using them.
  • Dont burn things that let off bad fumes into the
    atmosphere.
  • Dispose of rubbish properly.
  • Follow the three Rs Re-use, Reduce, Re-cycle.
  • Try to car pool when going to the same place.
  • Try planting more trees to increase the level of
    oxygen.
  • Buy in bulk, so the factories dont produce more
    packaging than necessary.
  • Make compost bins in your garden so the rubbish
in rubbish dumps is kept to a minimum.
  • Convert your cars liquid petrol tank to gas
because gas gives off less pollution.
  • Limit usage of fossil fuels.
