- Motion to update the Societies Federation,
Societies Federation Committee, and the Standard
Societies Constitutions - Societies Federation Notes
- That the Societies Federation, Societies
Federation Committee, and every ratified Society
has a full constitution - That all constitutions need constant reviewing
for best practise - That the Societies Governance Review has caused a
number of changes to come into effect - Societies Federation Believes
- That the aforementioned constitutions need
updating to bring them inline with the Kent Union
Core Constitution and Rules, the Governance
Review recommendations, and current best
practise. - Societies Federation Resolves
- To accept Appendix One (1) as the new Societies
Federation constitution effective immediately - To accept Appendix Two (2) as the new Societies
Federation Committee constitution effective
immediately - To accept Appendix Three (3) as the new Standard
Society constitution effective immediately - To mandate the Societies Federation Committee to
review all three (3) constitutions within
eighteen (18) months. - Proposed by Helen Ellis (Societies Federation

Federation Committee)
9Societies Federation Committee Elections
- There are ten positions available.
- This election will use the STV (single
transferable vote) system - The system allows you to use numerical rating to
express your preference for a candidate (i.e. put
a number 1 next to you first choice candidate, 2
next to your 2nd and so on for as many or few
candidates as you wish)
10Society regulations for Posters
Below are the regulations for Societies in
regards to posters around campus and in the local
community
- All posters must have the Kent Union logo on
them. - All society posters must abide by Kent Unions
Equal Opportunities Policy - 10.0 Union Communication
- 10.1 Union Communications should aim to reflect
the diversity of the Unions Membership and
should ensure that they promote a welcoming and
inclusive Union environment. - 10.2 All communications, particularly promotional
material, should avoid discriminatory
stereotyping. All posters must have the Kent
Union logo on them - All posters, whether produced by the Society or
by a third party, are subject to Kent Unions
Policies and Procedures. - All posters must be placed in official notice
boards and not attached to trees, buildings or
signposts. - Any posters produced that contravene these
regulations will not be paid for by Kent Union
Society funds or membership fees.

be approved by the Director of Finance - Budgets for 2009-10 are still being finalised
- Any credit in suspense accounts will be rolled
over to the next academic year
