• Q Who is eligible to take an internship?
• A All College of Business students are eligible
  to participate in our internship program. Collect
  an application form from the Internship Bureau,
  download one from the Internship Bureau's
  website, or register online.
• Q What is an internship?
• A An internship is a planned learning
  experience, in which the intern works with a
  supervisor in an organization to learn how to
  link classroom to work place, and/or explore
  previously identified aspects of a career.
• Q What sorts of internships does the Internship
  Bureau have information about?
• A The Internship Bureau has information about
  internships in the San Diego area. The
  internships are in all College of Business areas
  finance, marketing, real estate, management,
  accounting, and information systems.
• Q Why take an internship?
• A Internships provide many benefits. They allow
  you to complement your academic program with
  practical experience they let you explore a
  career area, or place of work they can teach you
  new skills they help you build up contacts for
  the future and they are a valuable addition to
  your resume when you look for a job.

• Q How are internships arranged through the
  Internship Bureau?
• A Students look through our directories of
  internships on-line. When they find an internship
  that interests them, they contact the Internship
  Bureau and let the staff know. The Internship
  Bureau forwards your resume to the company on
  your behalf.
• Q What is the time requirement?
• A For Sponsored internships you must spend 115
  hours at the site. For Direct internships offered
  directly by a company the total hours required
  vary and the schedule must be arranged between
  company and student.
• Q Is there any benefit in taking an internship
  for credit rather than just for experience?
• A No both internships offer you the
  possibility to get the most out of your
  internship experience. You can identify what you
  want to learn, and the site can help you achieve
  your goals.
• Q Do any of the internships pay? If so, is
  credit still awarded?
• A Yes. An internship can be paid and school
  credit can be awarded. There are unpaid
  internships as well. The Internship Bureau offers
  internships throughout the year.
