Loan Limit Changes

• Effective for Loans first disbursed on or after
  July 1, 2008
• Total Subsidized/Unsubsidized Annual Limit
  applies to Dependent Students
• Excluding students whose parents cannot borrow
  PLUS
• Additional Unsubsidized Annual Limit applies to
  Independent Students and dependent students whose
  parents cannot borrow PLUS

• Maximum Loan Period
• 12 month restriction eliminated
• Allows for loan certification period to reflect
  full AY if greater than 12 months
• Effective October 1, 2007

• Late Disbursement Time frame
• Extended to 180 days after determination that
  student is ineligible
• No more late, late disbursements cannot request
  additional time after 180 days
