  • The importance of planning
  • Task has demonstrated the importance of planning
    ahead.
  • Short, medium term planning is vital if you want
to be successful and achieve all that you can.
  • Get organised and get into the habit of writing
    lists!
  • However, make sure the lists contain things
    you actually need to achieve!

Study Skills - Planning Time
Things that are important and urgent need a fair
amount of time NOW. Things that are urgent but
not important need time now, but not too much.
Things that are important but not urgent must
not be squeezed out by the urgent items. Things
that are neither urgent nor important should we
be doing them at all
14
  • Study Skills - Planning Time
  • Get into the habbit of writing daily and weekly
    planning worksheets
  • Weekly plans indicate weekend goals and plans
complete on a Friday for coming week.
  • Include headings Must not fail to do and Could
    do to differentiate priorities.
  • Then assign an amount of time you can spend
  • Warning! Planning should save you time not cost
it these tasks can be approxiate and completed
    quickly.
  • At the end of the day/week
  • Review what you have accomplished
  • Note anything you wrote on your timetable that
    has not been completed
  • Reflect on how your actual week has compared with
    what you had timetabled.
  • Don't fret if you haven't kept strictly to
timetable but be sure you know why you haven't.
  • Decide if you need to do anything about it
in planning the next week's timetable.

15
