FIRST YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT IT CONSISTS OF

• TRANSDUCER A device through which
• Electric energy can flow from one medium to
  another and vice versa.
• Monitor Displays the scanned body images
• CONTROL BUTTON PANEL The buttons that will be
  used to manipulate the study

• Work Station 1, 2, 3
• Server (Work Station 4)
• Printer

THE HOT BUTTONS

• TRANSDUCER Chose the correct transducer for the
  type of study you are doing
• DEPTH(Field of View) Can increase/decrease the
  size of your image.
• FOCUS Gets your image in focus.
• TIME GAIN CONTROL.(TGC) Brightens/darkens near
  and far fields on your image (different sections
  as you desire.)
• OVER ALL GAIN BUTTONBrightens the whole
  image(not parts of it like the TGC button).

THE HOT BUTTONS cont.

• SCAN HEAD Is used to select the right transducer
  for the study
• SET BUTTON Helps you enter the selected function
  on your display screen.
• FREEZE BUTTON Your most common button, freezes
  your selected images.
• STORE BUTTON Second popular button it stores
  your images permanatly on the ultrsound machine

HOW TO START

• Machine must be on On button is on the top right
  of the machine.
• Click onID ON YOUR CONTROL PANNELEnter the
  last 4 digits of your social security number
  every time you scan along with what you are
  scanning (Example 2222 liver p1)
• UNDER NAME Type your first name, last name
  first initial (Linda.Z)
• CLICK ON STUDY INFORMATION under DESCRIPTION
  enter the name of the person your scanning (Sue
  M.)
• CLICK OK

• Make shore the time gain control buttons (TGC
  )are centered before you go any further.

HOW TO START cont.

• Click SCAN HEAD found on your control panal and
  select the study your about to start (Abdomen,
  Echo, Pelvis)
• CLICK OK
• Now you are ready to start scanning, but first
  lets find an acoustical window, find a structure
  to scan and adjust our controls

HOW TO ADJUST YOUR BUTTONS

• Before Scanning and while scanning ADJUST the
  following in this order
• Depth
• Focal Zone Knobe
• TGC Time Gain Controls
• Over all gain

AFTER COMPLETING YOUR STUDY

• Click END STUDY ON YOUR CONTROL PANNEL
• Click REVIEW BUTTON ON YOUR CONTROL PANNEL.
• CLICK and SELECT the study you have just done
  using the set button on your control pannel (the
  study will highlight in a blue color).
• CLICK BACK UP (on your display screen).
• CLICK CD(so your images would be saved on your
  cd)
• CLICK SEND(wait until they are stored)

AFTER COMPLETING YOUR STUDY cont.

• DO NOT FORGET TO SEND TO THE SERVER (Workstation
  4) Do this by
• Click SEND
• CLICK WORK STATION 4
• CLICK CLOSE
• CLICK LIVE MODE
• You are DONE
• CLICK ID (to start a new study and to start
  this whole process again)
