Title: Bud not Buddy
1Bud not Buddy
By Christopher paul curtis
2Main Idea
- The main idea of Bud not Buddy is he lives in an
orphanage and then he goes and gets to live with
a family but they kick him out and then he found
his grandpa.
Details
- At the orphanage he had a few friends.
- Then he went to the Amos's house and lived
there. - The Amos's son put a pencil eraser up Buds nose.
- Then they made him sleep in a shed.
- Then he ran away and met Lefty Lewis.
- Lefty let Bud in his car and then took him to
his grandpas house. - Then he stayed in his moms old room.
3THEME
- I think the theme of the book was not to call
someone your father when he is about fifty years
old. - Also that just because you think someone is mean
that doesnt mean they dont have a nice side.
4EVENTS
- Bud gets locked in a shed.
- He gets stung by bees.
- Then Bud hides the gun.
- After that he got in a car with Lefty Lewis and
lefty gave him food. - Finally lefty brought Bud to his grandfathers
and stayed there for a long time.
5The Setting
The setting is for when Bud is at the diner the
Sweet Pea. The Sweet Pea has a very nice inside
it has tables with red lining thing around it. It
is kind of big inside. As you enter it kind of
looks like our steak n shake. There are booths
and a clean atmosphere. So go to the Sweet Pea
and eat.
6Characters
- Bud the picture of the little boy it was when he
was about 5. He looks like a really skinny kid.
He is a smart, funny, and brave boy. He has blue
eyes and a nice smile. He has a lot of troubles
in his life to. - Angela is Buds mother. She also has a pretty
smile. But she has brown eyes. She was smart, and
kind, and funny. But she died when Bud was 6. - Herman E. Calloway he is Buds grandfather. Hes
Angelas dad. He was mean at first but at the end
he cried. So I guess he has a kind heart at
sometimes. He has an old look to him he has blue
eyes just like Bud.

10Compare Contrast
11Author Feels
I think the author feels bad for orphans. Also
that she wants them all to find someone that is
in their family. This book may inspire kids like
Bud to try things and think away from what people
tell you to, but not all the time. A lot of kids
should read this book. This is a really good book
and I suggest it to anyone.
