Goal
  • first meeting in SURF-JISC context
  • the test case for a further relationship
  • to explore electronic portfolio and look for a
    shared view and build up knowledge together
  • The aim a short paper with results of this
    meeting.
  • After this meeting a second meeting (March in
    UK) with project leaders of both countries. The
    aim of that meeting is to write a two-year plan
    for further collaboration.

  • Educational concept (constructivism,
    capabilities, life long learning)
  • The need to develop generic application profiles
    in a variety of pedagogic contexts

  • The government in the UK has more influence on
    educational priorities and objectives than in the
    NL
  • In the UK large scale innovations, uniform way of
    implementing
  • In the NL many smaller innovations by the
    institutes, many ways of implementing
  • NL more pragmatic approach
  • UK strong focus on the conceptual basis of
    innovation

  • Practice in NL mostly in HE, in UK broader
  • NL focussed on achieving practical institution
    wide implementations
  • UK still looking for a shared vision
