• Known as the Integrated Waste Management Act
• Required reduction of waste sent to landfill by
  local jurisdictions (Cities and counties)
• Mandated waste diversion rates of 25 by 1995 and
  50 by 2000
• Non compliance could result in fines on 10,000
  per day
