RISC

• United Health Tool that identifies those patients
  at a Practice at highest likelihood of admission.
• PCT already has PARR tool, but this tool
• Only looks at hospital admissions for its risk
  scoring.
• Has quite an unfriendly front end
• RISC uses GP data in its risk scoring and has as
  much more user friendly front end.
• Well received when demonstrated to Project Team,
  Wyvern Health and PEC members.

Why are we keen on RISC?

• To endeavour to calculate real numbers and
  identify real patients in the matrix below which
  to date has remained purely theoretical.

RISC Pilot

• 9 Practices are piloting risk.
• Wincanton, Hendford Lodge, Abbey Manor, Tawstock,
  Castle Cary, Redgate, Somerset Bridge, Taunton
  Road, Park Rd (Shepton).
• Risk was installed at the PCT last week
  combined Acute, AE and GP Practice data.
• Training is taking place on 26th June and 15th
  July.
• Pilot Practices will be asked to demonstrate
  whether this tool provides GPs with a better
  insight than other tools or their own hunches.
• System is free until November but costs
  thereafter.
