Performance Improvement Plans

• Three incidents of course evaluations with 30 or
  more fair or poor ratings require a
  performance improvement plan.
• The plan must be approved by the department chair
  in the course evaluation system. (See next
  slide.)
• Subsequent approval by dean and provost.

Approving Performance Improvement Plans

• From the Reports page click view list under 30
  List.
• Click on Approve Now for the corresponding
  record.

Summer 2008 Pilot Study

• Participating academic units
• Greek, Latin, Film, Music, Nursing, Philosophy,
  Theatre
• Results
• Feasibility confirmed
• Paired comparison showed significant decrease in
  response rate (avg. -30)
• No significant difference in ratings
• Participants like convenience but are concerned
  about response rates
