- Microsoft Office
- Email
- WebCT
6Did you know Each student is provided with
his/her own SSCC email account?
7Student email
- Your email account is accessible through the
MySSCC link on the colleges home page
(https//my.sscc.edu/cgi-bin/LOGIN.MBR/LOGIN?PREFI
XSSC) - Your email address is your login_at_webmail.sscc.edu
- Changing the password in your email account will
also change the password when you log on to our
computers!
8Did you know Each student is provided with
his/her own storage space on Southern States
server?
9Student storage space
- You can save up to 10 megabytes of information
- Youll recognize your home drive because your
computer login username will be included in the
directory name - Why? Because if you save it directly to a
computer on campus, once you log off that
computer, the information is G-O-N-E
10Did you know You can access your grades,
previous courses, and registration online?
- This information is accessible through the
MySSCC link on the colleges home page. You log
in to MySSCC to view your student records
11Did you know Three of Southern States campuses
Central (Hillsboro), North (Wilmington), and
South (Sardinia) have wireless Internet access
for laptop use?
12Laptop instructions
- Email the Help Desk at support_at_sscc.edu and give
them your name, barcode number, last 4 digits of
your SSN, and tell them on which campus(es) youd
like to use your laptop - The first time you try to load the Internet on
any campus, youll be automatically transported
to a page where you must download a VPN client - Once you download the client and hear back from
the Help Desk on your permissions settings, you
should be ready to use our network!
13Logging in
- To log in to our network (any computer on
campus), MySSCC, WebCT, or your email, you must
have your student I.D. or know your 14 digit
barcode number (specifically the 10th through
13th digits) - To get instructions on logging in to your email,
MySSCC, or WebCT, click on Need help in the box
for the module you wish to enter - If you enter the incorrect information 3 times,
youre locked out and youll need to come to the
LRC for assistance
14Troubleshooting What if nothing works?
- If you have another email account, you can also
email them and provide them with your name,
barcode number, and the last four digits of your
social security number - You can fill out a form from the Help Desks web
page (http//www.sscc.edu/helpdesk) - If you cant log in to the computers in the LRC,
the computer lab, or the mobile lab, we can issue
you a temporary login for the day, and youll
need to return the login card before you leave
the library or classroom
- If you cant log in to your student email, WebCT
(for online classes), or student records, DONT
PANIC - Come into the LRC and well email our Help Desk
(support_at_sscc.edu) so they can reset your
passwords.
