• Why in transport ? better in stationary sources
  !!
• Race to the bottom are massive imports of
  biomass from Brazil sustainable ?
• Link fiscal incentives to environmental
  performance !!

Fuel efficiency standards for cars

• Current voluntary CO2 commitment is not working,
  industry admits
• Dont be fooled 120 g CO2/km is
• technically feasible
• cheap (lifetime fuel savings !)
• social (2nd hand buyers )
• effective (probably most effective single
  measure)
• good for EU and its car industry
• Prospect for 80 (half current figure) should be
  given !

A strategy for the EU10

• Go for transport decoupling and transport energy
  stabilisation
• Follow good examples (London, Copenhagen,
  Amsterdam, Switzerland), not the bad ones
  (Brussels ? )
• Fight for your right to
• Internalise external costs !! Eurovignette as a
  start
• Get support for maintaining your chapels and
  building a few new ones, instead of empty
  cathedrals
• Halve fuel consumption of cars (80 g CO2/km)
• Biofuels incentivise only clean ones
