Citizenship

• Students will conduct on-line research to develop
  an understanding of what qualities make up a good
  citizen.
• Using the webquest entitled A Good Citizen with
  Mrs. Rumphius, students will choose one of three
  final projects to complete within the webquest.

• Extension Students will create a product to
  share their own personal qualities that make them

Skeletons 1st grade

• The class will be arranged in 3 homogeneous
  ability groups. Each group will produce
  ability-appropriate products that will be shared
  during the whole class Skeleton Celebration
  Day.
• The 3 projects
• Basics Create a labeled skeleton model. This
  group will draw a life-sized image of a skeleton
  by tracing the image projected from an overhead
  projector create bone labels in powerpoint using
  wordart cut out the labels glue them to the
  skeleton image.
• Intermediate Research bone facts at the
  Enchanted Learning website

• Record skeleton facts on a lotus diagram.
  Publish findings in a powerpoint slideshow.
• Advanced Star in a readers theatre of the book
  entitled, Inside a House that is Haunted which
  has a skeleton as one of the main characters.
• On Skeleton Celebration Day, each group will
  present their products to the rest of the class.
  Then, all students can enjoy this game in which
  they re-assemble a skeleton that has fallen to
  pieces in the laboratory
