  • Be very careful not to venture into unfamiliar
    and isolated areas -- by foot or by car --

    your destination first and get explicit
    directions.
  • Try not to arrive at bus or train stations too
    far ahead of schedule. Standing around waiting
    makes you an easy target for assailants.

    from doorways, avoid walking near parked cars,
    stay on well traveled/lighted streets.
  • Dont flaunt valuables, keep pocketbooks/valuables
    strapped across your body, clutched to your side
    or hidden under your coat.
