• Why a Swedish ISO standardisation set up?
• Swedish printers are not always comfortable
  reading technical English (ISO standards are not
  regularly translated into Swedish).
• The certification set up is described in
  Swedish, and central passages in relevant
  ISO-standards are referred to and often explained
  or clarified. Sometimes recommendations are given
  when the standard lack full info on details.

• In the spirit of ISO 9001, as a natural part of a
  complete quality management system.
• An ISO 9001 certificate is not mandatory, but
  much of the terminology and methodology is
  borrowed from ISO 9001.
• Audit from certification body accredited in
  Sweden mandatory. Consultants used in
  preparation/training may not act as auditeurs.
• Certification includes document assessment
  (knowledge about preflight and PDF/X), proofing
  (hard copy and softproofing), and general
  prepress knowledge.

• Certification assesses error handling and
  customer complaints who is responsible?
• Certification assesses if measurements can be
  made and interpreted in-house (no prints are
  planned to be sent away to be checked or measured
  outside the print facilities).
• Certification is open for digital printers, but
  assumes ISO 12647-2 as target/reference.
• Certification is open for prepress agencies, with
  focus on ISO 12647-2 and -7 as well as quality
  management.

• Scoring system
• The different modules in the certificate has each
  a maximum possible number of points, in total 100
  p.

• At least 80 points needs to be obtained for a
  certificate.
• A company cant be certified if they dont reach
  a certain level on both the modules QM and
  Prepress.
• Using the scoring system the certification setup
  hopes to inspire constant improvements.
• The certificate is valid for 3 years, with yearly
  audits external and internal.

• The Swedish CGP summarised
• For high and even level of print quality,
  knowledge of proper measurements is needed
  in-house (no prints are planned to be sent away
  to be measured outside the print facilities).
• Quality Management has to be applied to all
  involved areas, and measures taken possible to
  track over time.
• The certification follows relevant ISO standards,
  but the technical guidelines clarifies and
  suggest solutions when needed.
