21Europäische Handelsdynamik 2015
- Trotz hoher Wachstumsraten ist der Einfluß des
Ost-Westhandels auf den gesamten Handel begrenzt. - Der Handel zwischen den West-Ländern ist und
bleibt die dominierende Größe

27The impact of transport policies
- The development of a European common market is
promoting traffic growth. - EU and national transport policies only have a
limited impact on transport demand or modal
split. - Globalisation and logistical trends are governed
by laws of economy - Only pricing regimes are identified to have a
major impact on road infrastructure utilisation. - Additional infrastructure supports European
cohesion, but only has a temporarily relieving
effect. - Deregulation of the rail market has not
substantially contributed to the fulfilment of EU
transport policy goals - till now.

29Die BSR 2004Ketels, C., Sölvell, Ö. State of the
Region Report 2004. Stockholm School of Economics
and Baltic Development Forum 2004
- The Nordic countries dominate
- Poland, Germany, Russia all have their economic
centres outside BSR - Rapid development, but average BNP/capita in
comparison with similar regions - Big differences between the regions
- Cooperation assets
- Differences increase the advantages of
cooperation - Your neighboursprosperity promotes your own
- Successful companies with high productivity and
innovation capacity depend good conditions on all
levels (WTO, EU, national, regional).
