Harmonisation of Workforce data standards Why?
  • Needed to support integrated approach to the
    workforce for Childrens Services
  • Need to move away from multiple data standards
  • Need to explore convergence of disparate
    collections (e.g. SWF Census, NMDS-SC)
  • Extends the approach adopted within the schools
    sector
  • common agreements (Protocol on Data Standards
    Sharing)
  • definitions (CBDS)
  • collaboration (ICES, Supplier forums, etc.)
  • Participation in pan-government standards setting
  • School Workforce CBDS unfinished business!

steps
  • Currently
  • working on agreement to come within scope of
    pan-Government standards groups
  • setting up Harmonisation group and consultation
    mechanisms
  • wider communications to all stakeholders
  • For the remainder of 2008
  • current plan to publish draft standards early in
    the Autumn
  • proposed workshops in the Autumn
  • hope to publish final standards by the end of the
    year
  • development of a migration strategy
