• Approx 80,000 user identities locally
• Employee, contractor, card-holder (e.g. cleaner)
• Large number of changes daily
• A number of directories
• gt 1000 applications
• Most with own user store
• Each user has access to 5 10 apps
• Password management
• LAN, Mainframe, UNIX, application, Web etc

• All applications authenticate against the
  Enterprise Directory
• Single userID/password
• All user provisioning is fully automated
• User application access is modified automatically
  based on HR data
• Use of Federation between Telstra, Subsidiaries
  and suppliers
• Major hurdles to be overcome e.g. Product
  maturity, Trust and Liability
