Overview of FES and MILSBILLS Queries
  • MILSBILLS Query requires Billed DoDAAC, Bill
    Number, and Bill Date
  • FES bills are always Billings for Bulk Petroleum
  • Identified as FJ1 or FJ2 transaction types in
    MILSBILLS
  • Greater detail provided later in this briefing
  • Key point FES displays the Billed DoDAAC, Bill
    Number, and Bill Date
  • Contract Intoplane bills are currently not billed
    through the FES
  • Identified as FP1 or FP2 transaction types in
    MILSBILLS
  • These are not discussed in detail in this
    briefing, consult DoD 4000.25-7-M
  • Key Point FES does not currently display Billed
    DoDAAC, Bill Number, and Bill Date

Step 1 Open the DAASC website
Click on this hyperlink or type it into your
browser
https//www.daas.dla.mil/daashome/daasc_milsbills.
htm
This is the first alert you get, Select OK
This is the second alert you get, Select Yes

Step 2 Verify you are at the MILSBILLS System

Step 3 Select Connect

Step 4 This brings up a Telnet Window

Step 5 Type in MILSINQ and hit Enter Note
This TELNET session is not Case Sensitive

Step 6 Enter 1 and hit Enter at the Option
Menu

Step 7 This is the main Query Screen. As a
discriminate User, Focus on just the A Query
Query A Example You need the year and month of
the Interfund bill (YMM), the Billed DoDAAC, and
the Bill Number.
Use the FES to find these required data elements

Location of Required Data Elements needed for
DAAS Query
Signal Code
Billed DoDAAC If Signal Code A, the Billed
DoDAAC is the Customer DoDAAC. If Signal Code B
or C, the Billed DoDAAC is the Supp DoDAAC.
In this example, the Signal Code is C so
the Billed DoDAAC is in the Supp DoDAAC
column. In this example, the Billed DoDAAC is
W81THF.

Year and Month of the Interfund Bill
In this example, the Bill Number is F3024. The
year and month (YMM) of the Interfund Bill is 203

Step 8 Enter data into the Query
Notice the input is not case sensitive, and no
commas are used.

Step 9 The Summary Bill is displayed

Step 10 Request the Detailed Bill by entering
D 01 and hit Enter
Line Number
To request the detail bill, type D and the Line
Number. In this example, Entered d 01 (Not Case
Sensitive)

Once you select Start Logging, the Open log
file Dialog box appears

type in a File Name B. Then select Open C.
In this example, the selected location to save
the file to is The Desktop and the file name is
F3024.txt

After you select open, the log file saves each
screen.
Step 3 enter D and the line number, hit
Enter. In this example, D 01

Step 4 Continue to hit Enter or Return to
log the bill details.

will depict Query Complete Press Return

The Header File is used to transmit the Bill via
DAAS from the Billing Office to the Billed
Office (Usually within DFAS). The technical data
elements are not part of the actual Bill and Are
not explained in detail.
