Title: Oxygen and Detoxification

1
  • Oxygen and Detoxification
  • Getting healthy and Feeling better

2
Environment
  • 20 of the atmosphere is supposed to be oxygen
  • 10 of oxygen is reduced due to high levels of
smog and low numbers of trees in cities
  • Carbon monoxide fumes from cars strip oxygen
    molecules from the blood
  • Tap water very low in oxygen as its journey
through lead pipes and the addition of chlorine
and other chemical contaminants prevent it from
    being aerated.

3
Los Angeles air pollution
  • Increases risk of cancer for infants and children
    later in their lives
  • Smog accumulates with less than 15 inches of rain
    each year
  • One of the most polluted in the US

4
Is indoor air cleaner?
  • Indoor air ranked among the 5 environmental
    risks to public health
  • Indoor air quality is 2-5 times worse than
outdoor air (up to a 100 times worse)
  • Pollutants sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide,
nitrogen dioxide and lead, bacteria, viruses

5
Are We Breathing?
  • Over 50 of the population are shallow breathers.
  • Couple that with spending a major percentage of
our time each day working in buildings that re
circulate the same old air without reasonable
    fresh air exchange
  • End result
  • depletion of the available O2, and continuously
    increases carbon dioxide (CO2)
  • Viruses and bacteria concentrations continuously
proliferating due to low O2 levels

6
Our Needs
  • Air we need about 13.5 kg or 10,000L of clean
    nutritional air every single day
  • Air is the most vital of the three basic needs

7
I will Survive
  • How long can we survive without food?
  • - several days
  • How long can we survive without water?
  • - 2 or 3 days
  • How long can we survive without air? ONLY
  • - a minute or two

8
Low Oxygen in the Cell cause disease
  • Studies from various fields suggest that most
problems in the body occur when there is not
    enough oxygen at cellular level.
  • The air used be between 38-50 where viruses,
    pathogenic bacteria failed to thrive
  • Today our climate changes lower Oxygen and
    increase the risk for disease

9
Cancer cannot grow in high Oxygen Environment
  • When a cell is denied 60 Oxygen CANCER grows out
    of control
  • Cancerous growths disappear when oxygen
saturation is raised in the fluids surrounding
    the cancerous cells

10
Our brain and Oxygen
  • Healthy individuals breathe 21
  • Our brain uses 25-40 of our total oxygen supply
  • it is absolutely imperative that our brain
    receives enough oxygen

11
Oxygen is brain food
  • sleep apnea
  • poor concentration
  • forgetfulness
  • mood swings
  • restlessness
  • depressive thoughts and low drive
  •
  • Brain activity Dr. Andrew Scholey, Division of
    Psychology, University of Northumbria "Extra
oxygen has been shown to enhance mental
performance and memory recall in healthy active
adults in several clinical studies". Ref. Pmid
10604851 (pubmed - indexed for medline)
  •

12
Oxygen during flying
  • More than 50 of air passengers loose blood
oxygen at high altitudes even to a point at which
a hospital patient would be prescribed extra
    oxygen
  • The study by a team of Belfast researchers found
that oxygen levels fell by an average of 4 when
people reached cruising altitude. A total of 84
passengers, ranging in age from one to 78, had
their oxygen saturation levels measured by
qualified anesthetists on the ground and at
cruising altitude. From ground-level readings of
around 97, the average fell to 93 at altitude.
  •

13
Skin anti aging and Oxygen
  • By age 40, almost 50 of the skins ability to
consume and retain oxygen has been impaired.
  • Less Oxygen results in more wrinkles, fine lines,
    and dull looking skin.

14
10,000 Years ago
  • Oxygen level in the air is less today than in
    ancient times
  • Oxygen content was 38 10,000 years ago  The
main factor contributing to changes in dissolved
oxygen levels is the build-up of organic wastes
and getting worse due to pollution and
    industrialization

15
Low Oxygen Cause for disease
  • In all serious disease states we find a
concomitant low oxygen state...Low oxygen in the
body tissues is a sure indicator for disease...
Hypoxia, or lack of oxygen in the tissues, is the
fundamental cause for all degenerative disease."
  • Dr. Stephen Levine, Renowned Molecular Biologist
Author, Oxygen Deficiency A Concomitant to All
    Degenerative Illness

16
Why do we Yawn?
  • Scientists tend to agree that we yawn because
oxygen levels in our lungs are low.
  • When you yawn your alertness is heightened as the
sudden intake of oxygen increases the heart rate,
rids the lungs and the bloodstream of the carbon
dioxide build-up, and forces oxygen through blood
vessels in the brain, while restoring normal
    breathing and ventilating the lungs.

17
Oxygen Increases Energy Levels
  • Oxygen plays an important role in the body
    energy conversion process-turns fats,
carbohydrates and proteins into heat energy.
  • Studies have shown that daily use of recreational
oxygen can increase energy and stamina
    dramatically!!
  •
  • "Insufficient oxygen means insufficient
biological energy that can result in anything
from mild fatigue to life threatening disease.
The link between insufficient oxygen and disease
    has now been firmly established."
  • Dr. W. Spencer Way, journal of the American
    association of physicians
  •

18
Death without Oxygen
  • Our rich oxygen atmosphere has diminished from
32 to as little as 12 13 in some large cities
an average of 19 to 21 by volume overall. If
our atmosphere drops below 7 oxygen, oxygen
respiration cannot continue and anaerobic life
    will flourish.

19
Low Oxygen and Toxins in your blood
  • Mood swings
  • Weak immune system
  • Irregular sleeping patterns
  • Toxin build up in the blood
  • Poor memory/concentration
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Pale looking eyes
  • Poor skin texture

20
Studies to support Oxygen during Exercise
  • "Oxygen can clear your head, help eliminate
toxins, and give you a mind high" Andy Davison
    exercise physiologist Cosmopolitan 2000.
  • "If you use oxygen for 20 minutes, muscles become
loosened headaches and stress seem to disappear.
There is a renewed energy and a feeling of
relaxation. I am confident oxygen works."   Dr.
    Richard de Andrea Sunday Herald.
  • "Increases alertness, improves the bodys ability
to burn fat and enhances physical performance."
Howard Robbins D.P.M, for The Journal.

21
How does Oxygen help in Exercise
  • Boosts energy
  • Prevent the lactic acid build up that can hinder
    recovery time.
  • Increases metabolic rate and promotes more
efficient use of the bodys fat reserves.
  • Plays a part in repair and growth of muscle
    tissue.
  • "Extra oxygen enables you to recover more quickly
from exertion. It allows someone to train and
then exercise again." Dr. John Brewer, head of
sports science at Lilleshall Human Performance
    Centre Health and Fitness 1999.

22
Stress and Anxiety
  • Why does oxygen help relieve stress anxiety?
  • When the human body becomes stressed and anxious
it releases oxygen. The more we become stressed
the more we lose oxygen - this why a person who
has been in an accident will be given oxygen and
as a result start to feel calmer.
  •

23
Oxygen improves
  • Improves patients ability to utilize oxygen
during times of anxiety where oxygen depletes
  • Improves feelings of calmness thereby reduces
    heart palpitations
  • Increased Oxygen reduces dizziness by binding to
    RBC to improve blood circulation

24
Overall Benefits of Oxia
  • Stimulate brain activity Increase memory capacity
  • Boost concentration
  • Develop stronger alertness
  • Raise energy levels
  • Improve strength
  • Build endurance
  • Detoxification
  • Reduce stress
  • Calm anxiety
  • Alleviate tension headaches
  • Remedy irregular sleeping patterns
  • Help with cardiovascular activity
  • Prevent lactic acid build up
  • Strengthen the immune system
