3What is the V.I.E?
- The V.I.E is a form of civil national service 
 aimed at contributing to the International
 development of French companies (Law n 242-2000
 of march 14, 2000).
- The V.I.E enables businesses to send a young man 
 or woman, between 18 and 28 years of age on a
 professional assignment, for 6 to 24 months
 (according to your needs), under an internship
 programme.
- Benefitting from a public status, the V.I.E is 
 managed by UBIFRANCE, the French Agency for
 International business development.

-  With a local host structure (subsidiary,customer
 ,commercial branch, distributor,agent)
-  Or without a local structure but benefitting 
 from special measures for SMEs
- Placement under the guidance and supervision of a 
 French group (through the Partenariat France
 programme,for example)
- Sponsorship by a French External Trade Advisor 
- Time sharing among a group of SMEs

- Young men and women between 18 and 28 years of 
 age

French citizens or citizens of the European 
Economic area (E.U., Norway, Iceland, 
Liechtenstein) 
 6 What assignments?
- COMPANIES define them technical, financial, 
 management, commercial assignments
-  Sales development 
-  contributing to creating a local structure 
-  carrying out a technical contract, supervising a 
 work site
-  logistics manager 
-  bringing technical support to a distribution 
 network
-  Implementing a TMQS environment, health 
-  financial control, accounts management 
7An advantageous solution 
Flexible length of assignment 6 to 24 months , 
renewable once within a 24 month limit
- A public status favorable for both parties the 
 company and the V.I.E.
-  no employment contract 
-  the intern is entirely managed by UBIFRANCE 
 less paperwork for you
-  the intern is placed under the authority of the 
 French Embassy in the country of assignment (a
 protective public framework)
-  a comprehensive social benefits scheme covering 
 illness,maternity,invalidity, repatriation on
 medical grounds for the VIE and dependants ,
 contracted by UBIFRANCE
-  a monthly living allowance between 1.100 and 
 3.000
-  validation of the assignment period under the 
 French national pension plan

One V.I.E can cover up to 8 countries for a true

Up to 165 days per 12 month assignment can be 
spent in France (to get to know your company, its 
products, and liaise between the head office and 
foreign branches)
An alternative to hiring an expatriate or 
contracting locally It means giving a young 
graduate a great opportunity

Rates include monthly allowance and social 
benefits contributions (return travel fare and 
bagage transport not included).
