Equal Pay for Equal Work Petition
  • We, the undersigned, believe in the principle of
Equal Pay for Equal Work. We believe that
compensation for part-time employees should be
proportional to the compensation of equivalently
    ranked full-time employees when qualitatively
    similar functions are performed.
  • According to the State Board for Community and
Technical Colleges, the pay rate for part-time
community and technical college faculty is 56
percent of the full-time pay rate
    (http//www.sbctc.edu/legislative/docs/one-pagers/
    Part-time20salaries20one-pager.pdf).
  • We call on Governor Locke and the Washington
State legislature to rectify this inequity as
    state resources permit.
