Updated problem statement How do we create a
web based portal giving yet unknown electronic
music artists the opportunity to promote
themselves and their concerts? In which way shall
we design the portal to make it as appealing as
possible to as big a part of the target group as
possible while at the same time providing useful
and easily accessible information about the
concerts?

Limitation of genre

• As a result of discussions with our supervisors,
  we have chosen to limit the scope of our site. We
  have decided to focus on electronic music.
• The prevalence of computers has resulted in many
  people experimenting with this genre at home, but
  because of that many go unnoticed when they
  finally do hold concerts because nobody knows
  about them

Method

• 1. Investigate user groups and what they want
• 2. Investigate existing concert portals and
  similar media and discover and isolate the good
  and popular features then understand why they
  are
• 3. Make a list of criteria and features required
  for the media from data collected from 1. and 2.
• 5. Create two different types of designs of the
  preferred format, which matches the list of
  criteria
• 6. Implement the media
• 7. Test the media

Questionnaire

• We have contacted Niels from Jenka Records as
  well as a couple of amateur musicans and received
  their input
• We still need to make a survey of the portal
  users

The website

• We plan to make 2 different designs and test
  which one the users prefer.
• Part of the website will be reserved for
  musicians who need to log in in order to post
  concert dates.
• The actual concert dates need to be front and
  center on the mainpage so they are clearly
  visible.
