  • Nordplus is the Nordic Council of Ministers' most
    important programme in the area of lifelong
    learning. More than 10,000 people in the Nordic
    region benefit from it every year.
  • The Nordplus Framework Programme 2008-2011
    consists of four sub-programmes
  • Nordplus Junior
  • Nordplus Higher Education
  • Nordplus Adult Learning
  • Nordplus Horizontal

Framework 2
  • The Nordplus Framework Programme offers financial
    support to a variety of educational cooperation
    between partners in the area of lifelong learning
    from the eight participating countries in the
    Baltic and Nordic regions.
  • The Framework programme supports mobility,
    project and network activities.
  • In addition to the Nordplus Framework Programme,
    the Nordplus family also comprises a programme
    for cooperation in the area of the Nordic
    languages Nordplus Sprog.
  • The total budget for The Nordplus Framework
    Programme in the first programme year, 2008, is
    63,7 MDKK 8,5 M EURO.

Higher Education
  • The Exchange programme of the Nordic Council of
    Ministers, Nordiska Ministerrådet (Copenhagen)
  • HÖGUT, the steering committee for higher
    education of the Nordic Council of Ministers
    decides on the programme for Higher Education
  • New Sub-committees for each sub-programme
    decides on the money
  • CIMO, Centre for International Mobility,
    Helsinki, operates the HE programme on commission
    of the Nordic Council of Ministers

THE NORDPLUS YEAR
  • FOR THE (central) NETWORK CO-COORDINATORS
  • 1 March
  • Deadline for application from each network
    (central coordinator) to CIMO, for activities
    next academic year.
  • June (hopefully)
  • The sub-committee of the Higher Education
    Programme decides on the money to all Nordpuls
    activities the next academic year. CIMO sends a
    letter to each network with the results of the
    application and contracts. CIMO pays 80 of the
    money when contracts are signed.
  • The activities take place - mainly during an
    academic year.
  • 1 November (next year)
  • Deadline for report to CIMO from each network
    (central coordinator) to CIMO, of activities last
    academic year.
  • CIMO pays the remaining 20 of the money.

THE NORDPLUS YEAR
  • January 10th
  • Each school reports the preliminary/estimated
    exchange for next year as a base for the
    application. Schools who wants an IP, Joint
    Programme or an other activity have to deliver
    detailed plans as base for the application.
  • March 1st
  • Deadline for application from each network
    (central coordinator) to CIMO, for activities
    next academic year.
  • March 1st
  • Applications for student exchange next year
    shall be received by the partner school to where
    the students want to go.
  • May
  • The results of the admissions have to be sent to
    the sending schools by the receiving schools. If
    possible also copies directly to the students.
  • May 15th
  • Each school report the real number of student
    exchanges to the (central) network coordinator
    based on the result of the student admissions.
  • May 31st
  • Each school reports the exchange of the soon
    ending year to the coordinator. The IPs and other
    activities have to be reported to the central
    coordinator as soon as they have taken place, as
    base for the November report.

  • June (hopefully)
  • The sub-committee of the Higher Education
    Programme decides on the money to all Nordpuls
    activities the next academic year. CIMO sends a
    letter to each network with the results of the
    application and contracts. CIMO pays 80 of the
    money when contracts are signed. The result is
    forwarded to all schools.
  • The working groups hold meetings on how to
    distribute the money. The result of the local
    network distribution of grants will be announced.
  • The activities take place. 80 of the money is
    paid to the schools.
  • October/November
  • Annual Network Meeting
  • 1 November
  • Deadline for report to CIMO from each network
    (central coordinator) to CIMO, of activities last
    academic year.
  • CIMO pays the remaining 20 of the money, after
    which the institutions receive to remaining 20.
