  • Purpose To facilitate regional unity of
    community planning efforts associated with USMC
    and projected growth in eastern NC
  • Scope Provide liaison between the military,
    community participants in the organization,
    appropriate state agencies, and federal agencies
    designated to provide assistance to military
    growth communities.

    North Carolina as a military friendly state

  • Develop economic opportunities

Task Force Objectives
  • Obtain a Federal Grant from DOD/OEA and State
    Grant to conduct comprehensive impact study
  • Create a regional network and information sharing
    process through work groups, forums and e-mails
  • Identify growth issues and viable solutions for
    local, regional, state and federal consideration
  • Develop a comprehensive regional growth plan
  • Assess funding sources to mitigate negative
    impacts
  • Begin work in December 2007
