About the SPF SIG
Five-year Cooperative Agreement between the
federal government and Indiana. 85 of funds must
go to communities. State Epidemiology Outcomes
Workgroup (SEOW) conducts State
assessment. Governors Advisory Council (GAC)
develops state strategic plan and distributes
funds.

SPF SIG Goals
Prevent onset and reduce the progression of
substance abuse, including underage
drinking. Reduce substance abuse-related problems
in the communities. Build prevention capacity and
infrastructure at the state and community levels.

Alcohol. Prevent and reduce underage drinking and
binge drinking among 18 to 25-year-olds. Cocaine.
Prevent the first use and reduce the use of
cocaine among 18-25 year olds. Methamphetamine.
Prevent and reduce the use of methamphetamine
among Black youth and among White women and men
18 to 44 years of age.
