3
This Year and Beyond
  • We will be short between 400K and 500K this
fiscal year, which is the amount of lost
    incentive funds.
  • We will need to find, for the future, at least
1.2 million to be back to a reasonable amount in
    summer, expense, and oco.

Present and Future ReallocationsIn Percent

Major Issues
  • The adjustment to the new productivity factors
  • (the increase in lower and upper division
factors, which are driven by UF, forces us to be
    more like UF)
  • Changes in the format and offerings of the MBA
    program
  • Changes in the Business common courses curriculum
    and delivery

7
Productivity Factors by College2006-07
8
The MBA Offerings
  • A three prong approach at the graduate level
  • Continue the full-time day MBA and combine
classes with Sport Management when practical.
  • Offer the EMBA annually and the PMBA on a cohort
    basis when and where needed.
  • Create a three-year lock-step cohort MBA offering
    for part-time students.

9
Undergraduate Common Courses
10
Streaming Media Classes
  • It is possible to move all of the Business Common
Courses to streaming media, which has been given
very high marks by students and works well at UF.
  • Classes will be streamed from BAI room 238.
  • The streaming media classes will count double in
the Fall and Spring semesters. In summer,
streaming media classes that are streamed in A
and B sessions count as two courses.
  • If a large class is taught live in any semester
(including summer), it must have enrollment in
excess of 300 students to count double.

11
Regional Campus Programs
  • We will continue develop Professional programs
with premium tuition and overload teaching
    opportunities at the graduate level.
  • At the undergraduate level, we want to make the
Business Common Courses available via streaming
media and we are negotiating to split the credit
hours from 70rc/30mc to 50/50 with RC testing.

12
Executive Development Center(EDC)
  • EMBA enrollment is up from last year.
  • We have two PMBA cohorts underway.
  • The EDC is profitable and should be able to
provide research support funds to the college
    beginning this year.

Donations and Endowments
  • The Capital Campaign ended with the College
    raising approximately 38 million.
  • Annual giving is up and we moving further with
the help of the Foundation hiring additional
    staff for the College.
  • So far, it appears that we will have another
    productive year in raising funds.

15
Issues for the Provost and President
  • Members of the CEC have suggested that we
provide the President and Provost with issues
that they might address when they visit on the
    24th of October.
  • If you have issues or questions, provide them to
your unit head so we can forward a list of
    questions to the Provost.

16
Academic Year2006 - 2007
  • We have a significant year ahead of us that will
require hard work and change. It is essential
that you help foster an environment rich with
suggestions for positive change. The delivery of
course work and program design is an important
part of the role of the faculty. Please consider
seriously suggestions that can help enhance
quality while adapting to the new productivity
    factors.
