• Discussions began in January 2006.

• In February we brought in OCLC to demo ContentDM
  and began to talk about money
• Through the next several months we designed a
  questionnaire

• Late in 06 Proquest demonstrate Digital Commons
• We visited with someone from the MDL
• Webinar with ColorMax
• We attended the Symphony demonstration
• Trialed ContentDM February and March of 07
• May of 07 sent a report to the CLIC Board.

Questionnaire and Results

• 7 of the 8 institutions responded
• All of them believed that they had collections
  which would be appropriate for digitization.
• 3 were interested in participating in a CLIC-wide
  purchase.
• Available equipment?
• Wide disparity among the members
• What might be available on their campuses
• What might be necessary

More Results

• Only one of the institutions believed theyd be
  ready to develop collections including having
  staff and equipment in the next 2 years
• 3 more believed they be ready in the next 5
• All formats were expected to be needed print,
  multi-page, OCR, video, audio
• Five of six reported theyd catalog their
  collections into our catalog and would be willing
  to follow minimum standards
