Alexis Rockman

• A native of New York City. Born in 1962 and grew
  up in and around The Museum of Natural History.
  He received his BFA from the School of Visual
  Arts.

Alexis Rockman

• As a person who grew up adjacent to the Nature
  and Science Museum in New York, Alexis Rockman
  has been interested in how culture interacts with
  plants and animals and the way culture influences
  natural history. He often investigates the
  present and future pressures of human
  consumption, domestication of animals, and
  medical applications. His surrealist large scale
  paintings depict ambivalence and create a context
  for questioning.
