4Eligible Applicants
- To be eligible for funding under this program
you must - Be a U.S. citizen or resident alien currently
enrolled and matriculating student - Have a major or concentration within a field
related to housing and urban development - Not have taken your preliminary/ comprehensive
examinations. - Have completed at least two semesters or three
terms of your doctoral studies program - Must have been assigned a faculty advisor to
supervise your research manuscript - Provide a letter of support from your institution

9Program Requirements
- Support from your university
- tuition waivers, office space, equipment,
computer time - University sponsorship
- provides for payment of the grant by HUD to the
university and from the university to the
approved applicant - Progress reporting

10Factors For Disqualification
- Ineligible doctoral student
- Have not submitted appropriate documentation
letter from department chair - Have requested over 15,000
- Institution has not provided support

- 150,000 in funds available
- Maximum request 15,000 per grantee
- 12 month grant period
