- Print statements attesting to the school
districts commitment to parental involvement and
distribute the statements to the parents of
students. - Develop paycheck size cards with tips for how
parents can foster their childs success and
contact employers about including the cards with
employee paychecks.

- Informational Packet (formerly Family Kits)

- The recommended role of the parent, student,

the school activities planned throughout the
school year - And, a system to allow the parents teachers to
communicate in a regular, 2-way meaningful manner
with the childs teacher and principal.

Make a Difference evenings)
- A report should be given to parents with an
overview of - What the students will be learning
- How the students will be assessed
- What the parents should expect for their childs
- education
- And, how a parent can assist and make a
difference in his or her childs education.
103. Volunteer Resource Book
- Interests are listed and availability of
volunteers so that the school staff may - Determine how frequently a volunteer would like
to participate - Have options to include to help at home and
match school needs with volunteer interests.

to approach first, and how to develop solutions.
Notice the underlined wording change and
requirement.
125. Seminars to inform the parents of high school
students about how to be involved in decisions.
Such as those decisions affecting course
selections, career planning, and preparation for
postsecondary opportunities.
136. Enable the formation of PTA/PTO.
These are to foster parental and community
involvement within the school. Leaders of this
organization shall be utilized in appropriate
decisions affecting the children and families.
147. Parent Facilitator.
This should be a certified staff member who shall
receive supplemental pay for the assigned duties
as required by law.
15- 8. 2 Parent/Teacher Conferences per year
This was deleted from ACT 307. However, it was
not the intention of the legislature to eliminate
the Parent/Teacher Conferences altogether. Refer
to (B) (vi) on page 2 of the ACT 307 handout.
Therefore, it is an ACSIP requirement.

Improvement
- Specify the strategies that will be used to
promote Parental Involvement for schools in
School Improvement. - Describe how the school will provide parents
written notices about the school's identification.

- Prompt notification to parents about the
district's identification which must be
understandable, explain why the district is
identified for improvement and explain how
parents can participate in improvement plans. - Parental Involvement in schools.
