13From 6,000,000 tons of sugarbeets grown and
harvested annually..
14.we could construct from these beets 3 1/2
Great Pyramids..
Great Pyramid 450 feet high
Statue of Liberty 300 feet high
15.if spread out, they could pave a 30 foot wide
highway, 1,866 miles long..from Boise, Idaho to
Indianapolis, Indiana
16From these sugarbeets, we will realize production
of approximately 18,000,000 cwt., or 1.8 billion
pounds of pure granulated sugar.
- Population of Idaho 1.35 million
- Average annual per capita consumption of
sugar 48 lbs. - Total annual consumption of sugar in Idaho 64.8
million lbs. - If all the sugar produced by Amalgamated in one
year was consumed - in Idaho alone, it would supply todays
population for 28 years.
17Of the 18,000,000 cwt. of sugar Amalgamated Sugar
produces annually, 125,000 cwt. is sold in
Idaho.
- This equates to only 0.7 of the total produced.

- Key Operating Statistics for the Idaho Pilot
Project - These statistics are from the inception of the
project - through January, 2005. The 7-axle figures are a
- conversion of the 10-axle numbers to show what
would - have occurred had this tonnage been hauled on the
- traditional trucks. . . . . .

fraction
33? The same tonnage required 8,750 fewer loads
when hauled in the 10-axles equipment. ? Congesti
on both in terms of traffic count and miles
traveled is reduced by 23. ? Pavement wear is
reduced by the larger trucks by spreading 22
more gross weight over a 42 increase in the
number of axles. The result is a 45 reduction
in equivalent single-axle loads. ESAL is the
accepted method of predicting pavement wear by
different truck configuration. ? Pollution is in
part a function of fuel burned. The traditional
trucks would have burned 47,923 gallons more than
the 10-axle units when hauling the same total
tonnage. Particulate emissions (PM-10 PM-25)
are a function of trips. Since the 10-axle
trucks reduced the total trips by 23 the
particulate emissions fell by the same
percentage.

currently estimated at approximately
