Chapter Excellence Award
  • The primary purpose of the Chapter Excellence
    Award Program is to encourage activity within our
    chapters and to increase the involvement of Royal
    Arch Chapters in their communities.

Chapter Excellence Award
  • There are a total of twenty-one (21) standards in
    this program. To qualify for the Chapter
    Excellence Award the individual chapter must
    fulfill twelve (12) of those standards.

Chapter Excellence Award Standards
  • At least four (4) chapter members, including at
    least two (2) elected officers, must attend a
    stated convocation of another chapter.
  • The Chapters Annual Return must be filed on time
    and the Grand Chapter per capita dues paid by the
    date required by the Idaho Royal Arch Code of
    Laws.

Chapter Excellence Award Standards
  • Conduct three (3) education programs during the
    year. At the High Priests discretion, these
    programs may be part of either a stated or called
    convocation.
  • At least three (3) chapter members, including at
    least two (2) officers must participate in an
    Idaho Masonic Leadership Course.

Chapter Excellence Award Standards
  • Hold a ritual workshop in one (1) of the four (4)
    degrees of the Royal Arch. A minimum of six (6)
    line officers must attend the workshop.
  • NOTE The workshop must include floor work and
    room setup.
  • The chapter must distribute at least three (3)
    written communications (such as newsletters,
    trestle boards, etc.) to its entire membership
    reporting on chapter activities and upcoming
    chapter events.

Chapter Excellence Award Standards
  • Three (3) chapter voting delegates must
    participate in the current year GRAND CHAPTER
    CONVOCATION. Voting delegates are High Priest,
    King, Scribe or their proxies.
  • Conduct a Bring a Companion to Chapter Night.
    NOTE At least three (3) of the companions in
    attendance must be companions who have not
    attended chapter regularly in the past year.

Chapter Excellence Award Standards
  • Fill-out a chapter budget on forms provided by
    Grand Chapter and file with the Grand High Priest
    on or before March 1st. The budget must be
    presented to the chapter membership.
  • Complete a chapter activity plan on forms
    provided by Grand Chapter and file with the Grand
    High Priest on or before March 1st.
  • As a chapter, perform one community service,
    public service, or charitable activity.

Chapter Excellence Award Standards
  • Hold at least one fund-raising activity or event.
  • Invite and host a meeting for at least one other
    chapter. NOTE This is separate from Standard No.
    1, but could include workshops, seminars,
    discussion groups, etc.
  • Hold a social event to which the chapter members
    ladies and deceased members widows are invited
    with or without families. Such events could
    include Ladies Night, Widows Degree, dinners,
    picnics, ice cream socials, dances, etc.

  • At least four (4) chapter members, including at
    least two (2) elected officers, visit Jobs
    Daughters, Rainbow Girls, or DeMolay meetings
    -OR- hold a meeting with them in which they may
    present a program about their activities -OR- the
    chapter may entertain them. If no Masonic related
    youth groups, as herein mentioned, are available
    in the community, then other youth groups may be
    substituted, such as Boy/Girl Scouts, 4-H, FFA,
    scholastic clubs, sports clubs, etc.

  • Pass out 10 Masonic Letter to a Friend
    envelopes in the proper manner.
  • Initiate two new members.
  • As a chapter, with at least four (4) members,
    including at least two (2) elected officers,
    attend a County Commission, City or Town Council
    meeting or a meeting of any other governmental
    organization such as School Board, Library Board,
    Planning Board, etc. Report proceedings at next
    stated convocation.

Chapter Excellence Award Standards
  • As a chapter, with at least four (4) Royal Arch
    couples, including children if available, attend
    a church service of their choice.
  • Donate a minimum of 3 per member to RARA.
  • As a chapter, perform the opening closing from
    memory. All books should be closed however, a
    prompter may be used.
