What is APTS? RAPTS?

• Advanced Public Transportation Systems (APTS) are
  the transit side of the ITS Family and include a
  broad range of communication, control, and
  electronic technologies that can improve
  efficiencies, safety and overall quality of
  service.
• RAPTS is a resource program for public
  transportation professionals in the State of
  Florida to learn about, plan for, and implement
  APTS technologies.

Inventory Overview

• Large Systems (BCT, Hartline, JTA, Lynx, and MDT)
  have the most operational technologies, but also
  have several that are still in the implementation
  and planning phases.
• Medium Systems (ECAT, LeeTran, VOTRAN, RTS,
  Taltran, Palm Tran, PSTA, Sarasota, Space Coast)
  have some operational technologies, but the bulk
  of their technologies are still in the planning
  and implementation phases.

Inventory Results

• Small Systems (the rest) most have a
  communication system and paratransit scheduling
  software but little else.
• Most planned for technologies are Communication
  Upgrades, AVL and APCs.
