- Make sure you READ and UNDERSTAND the Test
Security Agreement. - Contact your Building or District Test
Coordinator if you have ANY questions. - Sign the Test Security Agreement.
- This is for your protection, to ensure you are
aware of your LEGAL responsibilities during the
current test administration. - Each line must be initialed to indicate you have
read the requirement.
- Your District Test Coordinator should provide a
copy of the Alaska Testing Code of Ethics which

4SBA Test Window
Test Administrator
- All SBAs must be administered between March 31
April 14, 2008. No SBA test can be administered
prior to March 31 or after April 14, 2008. - Schools must administer the RWM SBAs (grades 3-9)
in the following order reading, writing,
mathematics. - The science SBA (grades 4, 8, 10) must be
administered after the mathematics testing day.

- Length of Exam
- The RWM SBAs will take approximately two to four
hours per day for most students. - The test is not timed.
- Suggested Session Schedule for SBAs
- Grades 3 4 Take a 5-10 minute break after 40
minutes of testing. - Grades 5-9 Take a 5-10 minute break after 60
minutes of testing.

- The SBA Science test will take approximately
60-70 minutes for most students. - The test is not timed.
- Suggested Session Schedule for SBA Science
- A break is given after 30 minutes of testing.
9Plan Your Testing Schedule

- Review Test Administration Directions in advance.
- Do not read test items (either to yourself, to
students, or to another individual) unless it is
required to provide a documented accommodation to
an individual or student group. - Allow an additional 10 minutes to fill in
student-identifying information for those
students who do not have precode labels.
10Use Standardized Administration Procedures

- One proctor per 30 students is required for the
HSGQE. - Follow the instructions exactly to ensure similar
testing conditions in all classrooms. - Read all text preceded by the Say bubble
exactly as written. - You may reread (as written) any of the text
preceded by the Say bubble. - You are NOT allowed restate or clarify
directions. - Contact the Building or District Test Coordinator
if you have ANY questions about acceptable
testing practices.

- On the day of testing, it is not permissible to
conduct review sessions of the content area prior
to testing. - You may discuss the SAMPLE items in the test
books keeping these discussions specific to the
sample items ONLY. - You may answer questions about the sample items.
- You may NOT answer questions students may pose
about ANY test questions. - Tell students you are not allowed to provide
additional information and they should make their
best attempt to respond to the test item.
12Organize Your School Test Center

- Cover or remove instructional materials. (The
district must determine what items can be SAFELY
removed or covered.) - Plan extra time for distribution and collection
of test materials. - Plan seating arrangements.
- Make sure there is proper lighting.
- Eliminate distractions.
- Use a Do Not Disturb sign.

- If a student uses a Large Print or Braille, test
book, or has keyboarded his/her responses, school
staff must transcribe verbatim the students
responses into a standard test book/answer
booklet. - Test books/answer booklets must bear the
signature(s) of the transcriber(s) and the
transcription date on the inside front cover. - Its NOT permissible to insert, adhere, staple,
or clip a keyboarded response into a test book.
18RWM SBA (Grades 3-9)Labeling Test Books

- Two sets of precode labels are produced for
students in grades 3 and 4. One should be placed
on the reading test book, and the other should be
placed on the writing/mathematics test book. - There is one test book in grades 5-9. One precode
label is produced and is placed on the test book. - All test books must have a label applied before
the test books are used by students. - Test books that do not have a precode label or
district/school label will be considered unused
and will NOT be scored.

21SBA Tracking Materials

- You may use the security checklists provided by
DRC or the SBA Classroom/Site Secure Materials
Inventory List for the SBAs. - If using DRCs security checklists, check out the
secure materials needed for the day of testing. - Immediately after testing, check in all secure
test materials.
22Returning Materials
Test Administrator
- A precode label or district/school label MUST be
applied to all test books that are to be scored. - The label corresponds with the district, school,
and test to which the scores should be
attributed. - The Teachers Use Only field is filled in with
any applicable codes. - NOTE Modified tests are not scored. Check with
your DTC BEFORE you fill in this bubble. - Students have removed writing and mathematics
reference sheets. - Students have removed all loose paper from the
test books.
It is NOT permissible for proctors or test
administrators to open student test books for any
reason, including checking to see if bubbles are
filled in or tests are completed. Ask the
STUDENTS to check their books prior to turning
them in.
