29Launched in June 2003, it is the largest wooden
ship afloat and is a replica of a c.1745 East
Indiaman which is now on its way to China. It has
captured the imagination of many countries across
the world and has created enormous national pride
in her own country and their Heritage.
The previous two pictures of a gun salute were
taken recently in Hout Bay to honour the visit of
the Swedish ship Götheborg .... perhaps the
most ambitious living heritage project ever
undertaken in modern times.
