  • Wooden whaler, 1989 wooden boat hulls,
    driftwood, planking 800cm x 200cm x 250cm 10000
  • Two obsolete cornish clinker-built cove fishing
    boats joined together with additional woodwork
    and carved teeth to make a large wooden whale.
    Access to the interior is by climbing a rope
    ladder rear the tail. Photographed on the beach
    at Sennen, West Cornwall where these two boats
    were originally built.

  • One of a series of religious icons altars and
    relics made from electrical and computer
    components, satirising contemporary attitudes to
    technology and religion. On approaching the piece
    a 'geneflector detector' switches on the electric
    candles, the machine is now ready to dispense
    absolution.

  • One of a series of masks, skulls, skull boards ,
    artefacts, icons and god-dollies, made from found
    objects and presented as 'museum pieces'. Relics
    of a post-technological society. These masks were
    found on a beach, and have also been used by
    actors in outdoor theatre presentations on the
    themes of waste and pollution of the ocean
    environment.

  • An iron horse harnessed to a wheeled carriage
    bearing a gilded solar disc. Mounted inside a
    glazed and illuminated display case with other
    mechanical objects displayed as mythological
    characters, religious icons, cult objects and
    museum pieces, relics of previous technologies.

  • Tin miners wellington boots800cm x 350cm x
    650cm
  • A pack of underground dogs. Each hound made from
    three and a half pairs of wellington boots. The
    boots were thrown away when the local tin mine
    closed down ending a four thousand year history
    of tin mining in West Penwith. There are other
    dogs made from different boots eg car boot dogs.
  • They are photographed here in the ruins of the
    tin mines on the cliffs of West Cornwall.
