Selecting colors from this color palette can aid
in setting a consistent tone throughout state
agency websites
For maximum contrast, use black text on a white

8Images and Multimedia
Images provide an avenue to associate the site
with people, places and things. A common style of
imagery helps the brand obtain consistent
association.
A text equivalent for every non-text element
shall be provided by use of alt-tags or be
referenced on the page. Refer to the Website
Accessibility Policy.

The web safe palette contains only 216 colors
instead of the maximum 256 colors, because only
