CIS Transitions to SBCTC-IT
  • Appointed new interim leadership July 1 Mike
    Scroggins
  • Dissolved CIS as a separate state entity at the
    fall WACTC meeting (Oct 2, 2008)
  • SBCTC-IT employees will get HR, Payroll and
    Benefits support from BCC until June 30, 2009
  • July 1, 2009 all assets, liability, and other
    services provided by BCC will be transferred to
    SBCTC
  • Continuing to integrate teams and services
  • Recruitment for permanent SBCTC-IT leadership
    will occur following hiring freeze

Financial AID
  • In production at Wenatchee
  • Continuing with application monitoring and
    performance testing
  • Deploying updates HP3000 code to colleges
    Completed
  • Capturing lessons learned and repair items to fix
    prior to full college deployment.
  • Working on contingency should we find some type
    of fatal flaw (Need 10 Release for SAFERS)

Degree Audit
  • Completed changes to support Common Course
    Numbering August 2008
  • Stand alone version of software in production at
    BCC
  • Going to ISB for approval to continue with the
    remainder of Degree Audit project Integration
    with the Legacy System
  • This will include a modern data staging area
    designed to support Degree Audit. This approach
    can be leverages to support other applications.

  • We anticipate the Integration Project to take 4
    to 5 months to develop and implement assuming a
    January 2009 start date

PPMS/SMS/FMS
  • As resource become available between Financial
    AID and Degree Audit we will be working on a
    limited number of fixes in support of
    PPMS/SMS/FMS.
  • The product managers working to identify items
    based on guidance provided to work. Mandates
    go forward Capacity fixes go forward Browser
    functionality go forward Failing applications
    go forward (Web admission) Enhancements/customi
    zations not allowed

  • Approach
  • Align the resources and skills to the work items.
  • Example If we have a resource with a skill set
    that is best suited to the 3rd priority item on
    the list. We will work that item first.
  • We will continue to match skills with assignments
    to get many items done quickly
  • We will not be re-building or reprioritizing
    lists.
  • We will not take on enhancement efforts in this
    phase.

Future Path
  • Hire a consulting firm to help determine the best
    technology go forward path. The previous study
    from Speedware provided some options and will
    inform this engagement but will be much more
    thorough.
  • Draft Timeline RFP Released Sept 24.
    Contract in place, work beginning Jan 7,
    2009. Contract completes March 12, 2009. Go
    forward path chosen April 2009.

PPMS News
  • W-2/1099s same vendor. Added time to
    process. Mailing should not be a problem.
  • 2009 Scheduling Calendar in final stages soon
    to be released. ? Early!
  • 2009 Table Updates - will be implemented after
    Christmas.
  • HCA and ASI enrollment data will come to you
    mid- December (to Benefits person identified on
    our web site)
