• A strong M6.6 earthquake struck Hawaii early
  Sunday morning.
• Houses and a hospital were damaged by the main
  shock and aftershocks.
• A landslide with rock falls blocked a major
  highway on Hawaii Island.
• Power was disrupted across the state.
• No fatalities were reported.

• With a magnitude of 6.6, it is the largest quake
  to occur in this vicinity of the Big Island.
• The magnitude was too small to generate a
  tsunami.
• The volcanoes, located on the opposite side of
  the island, were not affected.
