under the Act

• Perform the supervisory, management and other
  duties required or assigned by the Board
• Confer with the Board on matters of Educational
  Policy
• Evaluate teachers under his/her supervision
• Assist in making the Act and Regs effective
• Advise and assist the superintendent
• Recommend to the superintendent the
  assignment/reassignment of teachers to positions

• The principal of a school is responsible for
  administering and supervising the school
  including
• the implementation of educational programs
• the placing and programming of students
• the timetables of teachers
• the program of evaluation, assessment and
  reporting to parents

• The general conduct of student, both on school
  premises and during activities that are off
  school premises and that are organized or
  sponsored by the school,
• and shall, in accordance with the policies of the
  Board, exercise paramount authority within the
  school in matters concerning the dicipline of
