  • e-Science Research Grants and Studentships Scheme

The Scheme
  • Based on AHRCs Research Grants scheme
  • Need to use AHRC Research Funding Guide in
    conjunction with Details of the scheme
  • Need to note the differences between the
    e-Science Research Grants scheme and Research
    Grants standard

How to apply
  • Must apply using the Je-S System (Joint
    electronic submission system)
  • https//je-s.rcuk.ac.uk
  • Application must be submitted to Je-S by 4pm 2nd
    November 2006 through your university submitter
  • Nominated Review must be received by deadline in
    order to be considered

Key Elements
  • Scheme Limit FEC 400k (not including
    studentships)
  • Maximum of two studentships per application / max
    of three studentships from any one HEI
  • Maximum duration of four years
  • One Stage Assessment Process

  • Ensure you make a note of the PI Response week
    Use PI response wisely
  • Nominated Review is optional
  • As application is going through Je-S and is to be
    costed using FEC so contact your Research/Finance
    Office at the earliest opportunity

  • Ensure the case for support does not contain too
    much jargon i.e. ensure that the broad aims of
    the project and activities the project are
    clearly articulated
  • Ensure that you articulate the arts and
    humanities research element of the application
