Breaking the Silence
Ugandan President Yoweri Museuemi talks openly
about AIDS. A significant drop in HIV infections.
Botswana newly-elected President Fetus Moga lays
out his five-year term to include fighting
various problems, including AIDS.
Church leaders in many African countries have
started to address and fight AIDS.
President Daniel Arapmoi of Kenya and Tanzanian
President Benjamin Mkapa declare war on this
disease.
Malawi President Bakili Muluzi invites a
cross-section of society to launch a new
five-year plan against AIDS.

It may feel as if it is too late to save 24.7
million Africans who are infected by HIV/AIDS

but its not too late to save 750 million
sub-Saharan Africans who are not yet
infected. Objectives for Stand With Africa
include stand with those fighting the spread
of the disease. prevent further destruction of
lives.
