Airbus -overview

• On July 11th, Airbus formally became a single
• integrated company, with retroactive effect from
• 1st January 2001, thus passing another major
• milestone in its history of achievements since
  its
• creation as a consortium in 1970.

The new company is established as a French
simplified joint stock company or S.A.S. (Société
par Actions Simplifiée) and two shareholders, the
European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company
(EADS) and BAE SYSTEMS of the UK respectively
hold 80 per cent and 20 per cent of the new
stock.
