  • Remember there are always hidden costs
  • E.g. You can make copies and realize that you put

  • LOOP Lewis Floors 9-14 bulletin boards
  • DePaul Center Floors 6-11 bulletin boards
  • 2 week posting period

  • University dining centers tables, 1 per table
  • 1 copy approved kept by Office of Student Life
  • Kept on tables for 1 week

  • Reserved from Sunday through Saturday
  • Cannot reserve wall for two consecutive weeks
  • Place materials on wall take down
  • Materials not removed will be thrown away

Promotional errors how to overcome them!
  • Too Much Information
  • Make sure font is large enough
  • Keep emails Brief
  • 5 second rule for flyers
  • Lack of Organization Insufficient time for
    promotion
  • Develop a definitive timeline
  • Start Publicity Early
  • Designate sections of campus for each person
  • Poor Placement of Advertising
  • Do not put flyers on already crowded boards
  • Do not leave information posted after the program
    otherwise people will stop looking for new
    information
  • Lack of Standardization
  • Post information in designated areas so
    students know where to find it
  • Put newspaper ads and posters in the same place
  • Not getting permission for advertising
  • Be aware of University Regulations
  • Stamps, time for printing, how long posters will
    be up
  • Not Involving Faculty/ Other Organizations

  • Develop ways to involve them in programs

  • Do not settle with only one method of publicity
