Required Rationale ForSupporting LIN Exemption
Requests (1 of 2)
  • Detailed description/explanation of problem, and
    from
  • unit perspective, its cause and effects for each
    LIN
  • requested.
  • Provide description of coordination between the
MACOM Readiness and Documentation Offices with
explanation of why problem couldnt be resolved
    without HQDA intervention.
  • LIN exemption approvals will be accompanied by a
statement for correcting deficiency causing the
    problem if applicable.

8
Required Rationale ForSupporting LIN Exemption
Requests (2 of 2)
  • Projected timeline for completion of request is
    40 days upon receipt.
  • Exemption by SRC or Army Wide is preferable.

9
Normally Unacceptable Rationale ForSupporting
LIN Exemption Requests
  • Unit states/feels it does not require this/these
    item(s).
  • Unit not scheduled to receive this/these item(s)
    due to HQDA reprioritizations.
  • LIN is documented for removal on future MTOEs.

10
LIN Exemption, HQDA Point of View
  • Approval is not automatic, it is considered an
    exception versus the rule.
  • In many instances, an exemption approval hides a
    problem which never gets corrected.
  • LIN exemptions from readiness reporting will not
    be delegated to the MACOM.
  • The USR needs to be a clear reflection of
    Readiness to Senior Army Leadership.

11
Summary
  • All LIN exemption requests should adhere to
HQDA policies and procedures to allow for
thorough and sufficient review for decision.
  • All of the covered information is obtainable on
    FMS.
